The National Awards Program is presented by the Spirit of Women Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3), that provides inspiration, guidance and stewardship to the programs of Spirit of Women and its hospitals nationwide. The Spirit of Women Foundation also oversees a small grants program to support innovative work and research in women's health.

Spirit of Women in celebrating women throughout the United States
who dedicate themselves to making their communities, both large and
small, a better place for us all.
For
the past six years the Spirit of Women Awards Program has proudly
recognized “ordinary women who do extraordinary things” in each
of three categories: Youth Recipient, 14-21, Community Recipient, 22
and over and Healthcare Provider. Beginning on a regional level,
Award Winners are selected and saluted by Spirit of Women Member
hospitals across the country.
The
2004 Spirit of Women National Awards will be celebrated on May 21 at
the Gaylord
Palms Resort in
Orlando, Florida. Regional Spirit of Women Awards celebration events
precede the National Celebration at Spirit of Women hospitals
throughout the year.
Regional
Winners are selected by committees coordinated by local Spirit of
Women hospitals. Regional
Winners from across the United States go on to become National
Nominees. Three
National Winners are selected from all National Nominees.
The National Awards selection committee is comprised of
Foundation Board Members, corporate leaders, hospital
representatives, and past National Award Winners.
