Spirit of Women, 2000 Award Winners



		The national winners for 2000 were announced at the National Awards Celebration 2000 held at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC, on Saturday, February 5, 2000. On hand to honor all the 48 Spirit of Women regional winners from the across the country, were 220 guests. The First Lady of the United States, Hillary Rodham Clinton, gave a toast to all the winners via videotape. Each winner also received $1,000 to donate to the cause of her choice. The Spirit of Women Awards Celebration 2000 was underwritten in part by grants from Ortho McNeil and Ortho Dermatological, two Johnson and Johnson companies. These 48 women have created an enormous force for change. Equally important, they have motivated and inspired others to make changes in their lives. From this esteemed group, three women were selected as national winners. In this role they represent the collective power that lives within all Spirit of Women winners.
